European elegance, with room for Miami Beach to have a little fun.

South of Fifth brings the European design elegance to the relaxed, playful spirit of Miami Beach. The intention is a home that feels refined and welcoming, with enough contrast to give it personality. Curved seating meets bold silhouettes, and composed rooms leave space for unexpected colour. These contrasts allow the design to feel dressed for an evening with friends and equally comfortable for an unhurried day at home.

Living room

The existing fireplace could not be kept in its original shape, so we reimagined its design while maintaining its place in the living room. Seating gathers around this familiar focal point, with generous curves and contrasting chairs creating a setting for relaxed conversation.

Kitchen

The island places the sink and seating together, so preparation can remain part of the conversation. Full-height dark cabinetry gathers storage along the back wall, while the rounded stone edge softens the route around the island. Lighting beneath the pale upper cabinets illuminates the worktop without competing with the daylight from the windows.

Primary bedroom

The main bedroom gives formality a playful edge. A substantial headboard anchors the room, while blue bedside lamps and a red-toned chair introduce moments of colour. The intention is a place to unwind that still has a distinct personality.

Bathroom

The bathroom offers a gentler pace within the apartment. Rounded forms and daylight make the room feel open and inviting, while the contrast between the vanity and surrounding finishes gives it definition without overwhelming the space.

Second bedroom

The second bedroom has a more intimate character, with a dark, veined headboard drawing attention to the bed. Soft bedding and warm accents make the room feel inviting, carrying the apartment's contrast into a setting designed for rest.
